Conservation Grazing
We have established Conservation Grazing Pony herds at Shires Holt. A project very close to our hearts due to the large number of Feral Moorland Ponies rescued which due to a number of reasons will never be suitable for domestic placement.
These ponies become invisible and unwanted, we could not accept this to be the end for these wonderful ponies so embarked on a mission to find a solution.
Our desire to save these ponies lead us to Conservation Grazing Projects, and we are delighted to be working alongside Cornwall Wildlife Trust, The Gaia Trust,
The National Trust and private land owners where our Pony Herds now enjoy life foraging as nature intended. Health benefits from foraging flora and fauna, natural shading in tree copses, granite lay in soil works as natures hoof trim, clear natural water springs. whilst regenerating and preserving our environment to the benefit of our wildlife and native plant species

Our ponies manage areas by clearing foliage that conserves nature and structures sites that are protected for our future, and allowing endangered species to thrive in their environment

Areas of natural beauty are a wonderful place for our volunteers to engage, learn and interact in all aspects of our pony projects. Creating a balanced sense of mental wellbeing
